April Showers Bring May Flowers and support for an organization in Jacksonville, NC, whose mission is to assist women that find themselves with an unplanned pregnancy. The Onslow County Republican Women’s Club threw a Baby Shower in support of Hope First at their April 2025 Meeting. Our guest speaker, Krysia Davis, Hope First Director, shared with club members and guests the services provided at their center.
Hope First was originally known as the Onslow County Pregnancy Center. It started with the passion of Kathy Kane and Diana Jones in 1989. These two women had a heart for expectant moms who had an unplanned pregnancy and were considering aborting their baby. Krysia shared that in 2018, the center received their first ultrasound machine and that it has had a huge impact on those considering abortion. “It has been a game-changer” Krysia shared. 500 lives have been saved thus far due to the work of Hope First.
She also spoke briefly about each of the additional services that are provided at the center such as Parenting Classes, Fatherhood Program, Forgiven and Set Free, a program that helps women who have had abortions find healing and hope. The Baby Boutique is by far the most popular at the center. OCRWC members brought gift wrapped items for the Baby Boutique and enjoyed Baby Shower refreshments prepared and served by the Hospitality Committee and the America First Committee.
Onslow County Republican Women’s Club is honored to be a part of the work of Hope First and will continue to support their mission as they positively impact women in Onslow County.
