On Sunday, October 15th, 2023 Volunteer Members of the OCRWC along with other volunteers came together to tie yellow ribbons….. the BOW BRIGADE!” We gathered at the LeJeune Memorial Gardens to hang bows on Highway 24 and Johnson Bvd to create a Yellow Ribbon pathway to the Gardens ahead of the upcoming 40th Anniversary Beirut Memorial Observance that was held on Monday, Oct 23rd. An observance to honor those who gave their lives in the Beirut bombing back in 1983. These ribbons along with other ribbons that were hung on trees throughout the Memorial Gardens and the trees that were planted in honor of those who gave their lives were adorned with these ribbons. This was a great day to prepare our great city of Jacksonville for this Day of Observance and to continue flying the ribbons thru Veterans Day. Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to help!
